First International Symposium on the Future of Software Engineering

The first International Symposium on the Future of Software Engineering (FUSE 2024) will focus on future visions of software engineering research and how software engineering can adapt and integrate current software systems-related technologies amid disruptive innovations such as generative AI and augmented reality. Through the symposium, we will establish the grand challenges that the field of software engineering is expected to achieve in the next decade.
The symposium will be held at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), located in the center of the main island of Okinawa. Okinawa is the southernmost prefecture of Japan. It consists of numerous islands in a chain of more than 1,000 kilometers and was known as the Ryukyu Kingdom from the 15th to the 19th century. Okinawa is a blend of different cultures from neighboring Asian areas. There are many domestic flights from major cities in Japan and direct international flights from China, Korea and Singapore.
